# How to Create a Top Performing Creative Report

## Overview

Top Performing Creative Reports help you identify which ads, creative attributes, and messaging strategies are driving performance across your paid social campaigns.

Rather than analyzing creative only at the individual ad level, you can group performance by attributes such as **Ad Name, Ad Copy, Headline, Landing Page, Ad Type, Hook, Product, or Tags** to understand what creative elements are contributing to performance.

Creative Reporting currently supports **Meta Ads and TikTok Ads**, with support for **YouTube, Axon, and Reddit coming soon**.

***

## Step 1: Create a Top Performing Creative Report

1. From the left navigation menu, expand **Creative Reporting**.
2. Click the **+** icon.
3. Select **Top Performing Report**.

SuperOrbital will generate a new Top Performing Creative Report. Allow a minute or so for the initial report to load.

New reports are created as **Untitled** by default. Enter a **Title** for your report and click **Save**.

Your new report will initially display creative performance for the **Last 7 Days**.

***

## Step 2: Configure Your Report

The controls at the top of the report determine the data and creative groupings included in your analysis.

### Select Your Date Range

Use the **Date Range** selector to analyze top-performing creative across any timeframe within the previous two years.

### Choose How to Group Your Creative

Use the **Group By** dropdown to determine how creative performance is categorized within your report.

Depending on your creative data, you can analyze performance by:

* **Ad Name** – Matches the Ad Name used in Meta or TikTok.
* **Ad Copy**
* **Headline**
* **Landing Page**
* **Ad Type**
* **Ad Format**
* **Hook**
* **Product**
* Other available creative attributes
* **Tags**

Changing the Group By dimension allows you to answer different creative performance questions. For example, grouping by **Ad Name** helps identify your strongest individual ads, while grouping by **Hook** can help determine which creative concepts are performing best across multiple ads.

> **Tip:** You can create as many Creative Reports as you need. Consider saving separate reports for the views you reference frequently, such as **Top Performing Ads, Landing Pages, Ad Copy, and Headlines**. This allows you to return directly to those views without reconfiguring the report each time.

### Group Creative Using Tags

Tags provide another way to organize and analyze creative based on visual, messaging, or strategic characteristics that may not be captured by standard platform fields.

SuperOrbital supports:

* **AI Tags** – Creative attributes automatically identified and applied by SuperOrbital, such as visual style, hook type, talent, messaging, and other strategic creative characteristics.
* **Custom Tags** – Labels created manually to capture business-specific creative attributes, campaigns, themes, or other classifications you want to track.

For example, Custom Tags could be used to group creative by seasonal campaign, influencer partnership, promotion, or another client-specific strategy.

### Select Your Data Source

Use the platform selector to toggle between **Meta Ads** and **TikTok Ads** creative performance.

***

## Step 3: Filter Your Creative Report

Use **Filters** to narrow the creative included in your report.

You can apply dimension-level filters such as:

* Campaign Name
* Ad Set Name
* Ad Name
* Ad Status
* Tag

You can also filter based on metric values such as **Spend, ROAS, Revenue**, and other available performance metrics.

Dimension and metric filters can be combined using **AND/OR logic** to create more specific reporting views.

Because you can create multiple Creative Reports in SuperOrbital, consider saving separate reports for filtered views you reference regularly rather than rebuilding the same filters each time.

***

## Step 4: Choose How to View Your Creative Performance

Top Performing Creative Reports provide three ways to visualize the same underlying performance data.

### Creative Card View

The **Creative Card View** displays a visual preview of each creative alongside its primary performance metrics.

Use this view when you want to evaluate the actual creative alongside its performance.

### Table View

Switch to **Table View** to analyze the same data in a traditional table without creative thumbnails.

This view is useful when you want to focus specifically on metrics or compare a larger amount of performance data without the creative previews.

### Comparison View

Select the **Comparison View** to visualize performance across your selected creative groups using a bar chart.

The comparison changes based on your selected **Group By** dimension. For example:

* With **Ad Name** selected, you can compare the performance of your top individual ads.
* With **Ad Type** selected, you can compare performance across formats such as Video, Static, and GIF.
* With **Hook** selected, you can compare the performance of different creative hooks.

Use the **Export** options to download the visualization for use in weekly reporting decks, presentations, or PDFs. You can also export the underlying data as a **CSV or XLS file** for additional analysis.

***

## Step 5: Configure Your Performance Metrics

The metric controls above your creative cards determine which KPIs are displayed on each card and the order in which they appear.

From this section, you can:

* Click the **X** next to a metric to remove it.
* Click **+ Add Metric** to add another performance metric.
* Click, hold, and drag a metric horizontally to change its position.

As you make changes, the metrics displayed on the creative cards below will update automatically.

### Choose How Your Creative Is Ranked

Creative cards are ranked in descending order based on the **first metric** in your metric configuration.

For example, if **Spend** is your first metric, your creative cards will be ordered from highest to lowest Spend.

To rank your creative using a different KPI, move that metric into the first position.

***

## Step 6: View Detailed Creative Performance

Click any creative card to open a detailed view on the right side of the screen.

From the detailed view, select **Performance** to see the individual ads contributing to that creative group and compare their performance.

For example, if your report is grouped by **Hook**, selecting a Hook card allows you to see the individual ads categorized under that Hook and compare how each ad is performing.

This allows you to move from a high-level creative insight into the individual ads driving that result.

***

## Step 7: Control Which Creative Cards Are Displayed

By default, Top Performing Creative Reports display **eight creative cards**.

To change which creative groups appear in the Card View, scroll to the **Creative Metrics Overview (KPIs)** table below the creative cards.

Use the checkboxes next to each row to select or deselect the creative groups you want displayed above.

Checking a row adds that creative group to the Card View, while unchecking it removes the card from your current view.
